Tips to Add Value

INFO FOR AUTHORITIES
Because the address book is a shared tool, you do not have to build it alone. Following 3 easy steps will ensure that you and other health and safety authorities in your region build the address book efficently, gaining value with minimal effort:

STEP 1: Coordinate Efforts with County Authorities

  • Many recipients are valuable to all Critical Reach users in your county. So, identify both county and local sources of address book data.
  • A single effort to enter media, transportation centers, schools, and hospitals in your county or region are then available to all Critical Reach users.
  • Based on the county plan, each local agency can collect and enter important recipients in their area. As addresses are entered, they become available to all Critical Reach users.
  • Build Private Groups (e.g., Drug Task Force, Sex Predator Task Force) useful to agencies countywide.

STEP 2: Prioritize Recipient Groups

  • The law enforcement agencies in the county will be the most frequently used and should be top priority. Other high priorities include schools, hospitals, pawn shops, transportation centers, and media.
  • Include email addresses for all local health and safety agencies (including state and federal) that do not have Critical Reach.
  • Have your detectives identify the most important recipient groups for their cases and enter those early.

STEP 3: Recruit Help (No need to go it alone)

  • Volunteers can help collect and enter data into the address book. This may include cadets, Citizen Academy participants, and retired officers, as well as trusted community volunteers from the PTA, service clubs, etc.
  • Find existing contact databases from sources such as the county Superintendent of Schools, Chamber of Commerce, and the Health Department (hospitals, doctors, etc).
